Most passenger aircraft were biplanes till the 1930. This aircraft with wooden or metal framework including it's pairs of wings were covered with fabric or sometime plywood. Due to drag on their wings, this aircraft were restricted to low altitude and low speed. This aircraft has an open cockpit which was enclosed from front side, also it was an unpressurized cockpit which was able to carry maximum ten people. At time of flying through turbulence, journey of passenger may be bumpy since this passenger were to sat on wicker chairs which was not bolted to the floor. To reduce the effect of noise and environmental changes over an altitude, ear plugs and warm clothing were required to passenger.
Aircraft like Lockheed Electra which was powerful, streamlined, all metal Monoplane were widely spread in 1930. Due to discovery of pressurized cabin by the year 1939, flight gets faster at high altitudes, by facing less turbulence. Due to inadequate of runway and frequency of emergency sea landing, flying boats were become necessary till 1945. Flying boats are seaplane which has no landing gear system which makes aircraft to land on water. Good runway were begin to built during world war 2 to have standard air route and for drills which indirectly become advantage for passenger aircraft.
