Flatbed scanner.


 


Any physical images can be converted into electronic form by scanner. This electronic form image can be sent over any media such as internet, to display on website, to store in computer and many other. When light gets reflected from an image, it gets detected and analysed by scanner which is it's working principle. By analysing light which is passed through image, photographic transparencies can be scanned. The scan head is a unit of flat bed scanner which contains charge coupled devices (CCD's), lens, mirrors, and lamp. The carriages moves under the image which is affixed with lamp. As it moves light gets shine over image then this light gets reflected by mirrors to reach till lens, once it reach to lens then it gets focused on CCD by lens. Pixel which is a picture element helps CCD to detect the brightness of light. This CCD convert that data into an electronic signal. Color filter like red, green, and blue plays a role for color images to be get detected by CCD. This information further gets converted to digital form. Resolution which is measured in dot per inch (DPI) determines the quality of image. Less the resolution, less the quality and more the resolution, best the quality.
