- About aircraft :- Boeing defense developed a military aircraft Boeing P-8 Poseidon formally know as Multimission Maritime Aircraft. It was developed for the United States Navy (USN) by modifying 737-800ERX aircraft. Boeing P-8 performs role in anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW), and shipping interdiction. Torpedoes, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, etc are some weapons that are attached to aircraft.

- Boeing P-8I for India :- Boeing P-8A has customized and present in form of Boeing P-8I for Indian Navy. Boeing P-8I has two major components which are not affixed in Boeing P-8A. Those components are a Telephonics APS-143 OceanEye aft radar and a magnetic anomaly detector (MAD). Boeing P-8I can exchange tactical data with Indian Navy aircraft, ships and shore establishments with help of The Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Data Link II communications. AGM-84L Harpoon Block II missiles and Mk 54 All-Up-Round Lightweight torpedoes are purchased by India for Boeing P-8I.
